Explore really wild places in the heavenly mountains of Kyrgyzstan! We want to present you a biking tour, which routes will be along untouched mountain gorges where it is still possible to meet genuine nomads. It is a perfect chance to feel the nature, because you will cycle in places that are so far from the civilization. During your adventure you will see yurts - nomadic felt dwellings, which are very unique and their owners will invite you for a cup of tea or kymis (traditional Kyrgyz drink).
Day 1: Arrival in Bishkek
You will be met by your guide in Manas International Airport and accompanied to Bishkek (the capital city of Kyrgyz Republic). Transfer from the Airport to Bishkek city takes 30 minutes. Upon arrival in Bishkek you will start the day with a nice breakfast. You will have a rest after accommodation in the hotel*** that is situated in the tranquil part of the city. Today an excursion will be organizes to Ala - Archa Natural Park, which is situated 45 km. south Bishkek, on the Kyrgyz ridge (a spur of Tien - Shan), in the Gorge of Ala-Arch. To observe this famous gorge you will go on the top of the mountain. Transfer to Bishkek. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Overnight stay is in the hotel***.
Day 2: Bishkek - Kochkor - Sarybulak
We start our trip to Kochkor village by car in the morning. Our route passes via Orto Tokoi water collecting reservoir. You will meet a family in the Kochkor Village that shows you the way national felt carpets are produced. During this felt show you even can create your own carpet together with them. After felt show you will visit Kyrgyz handicraft museum in Kochkor. Then ride by the asphalt road to the Village of Sary Bulak (2310 m. alt., 38 km). Transfer (7 km, 2390m. alt.) by bike on dirt road to confluence of Biulioomiu and Kara-Kudjur Rivers. Night is in tent camp.
Day 3: Sarybulak - Kichi-Naryn
This day is easy one. You will ride along the Balgart and Kichi - Naryn Rivers. Riding is on the dirt road. Near the Kichi-Naryn River in the forest, overnight stay is in tents. This area is well-liked among the nomads since ancient time. The Kyrgyz shepherds with all their relatives were coming to this area. As a big family all of them were going from one place to another with a great amount of livestock. The Kyrgyz nomads are very hospitable and like to meet travelers.
Some Kyrgyz tribes conclude 1000 yurts and even more!
Day 4: Ride (63 km) Kichi-Naryn - Naryn town
Easy day. We will ride down to the Kichi-Naryn Village (2351m. alt.) after breakfast. It is situated 4 km. from the confluence of Naryn and Kichi-Naryn Rivers. The road to Naryn will surprise you by its beauty and amazing mountains. The whole way will be along incredible gorges and you will have many photo stops! You will cycle to the town of Naryn (2050 m. alt.) along Naryn River. Naryn is a long narrow town that streched along the gorge near the longest river in Kyrgyz Republic - Naryn. The town is situated very close to the mountains, at the altitude of 2800 meters above the sea level. Lunch is on the way. After having lunch we will continue cycling by the main road. You spend this night as nomads do, in yurts! Yurts are collapsible nomadic dwellings that are made of wood without using a single nail and felt.
Day 5: Transfer or Ride Naryn - Son Kul Lake
This day you can be transferred or you can cycle over the Kurtka Pass (3243m. alt.) to the 2nd biggest lake in Kyrgyz Republic - Son Kul. Son Kul Lake is situated at an altitude of 3016 meters above sea level and surrounded by the mountains. It is the highest alpine lake in Kyrgyzstan. Herders of the Naryn region come to the lake to use it as grassland. The Kyrgyz nomads started to come to this fantastic area with their families for relaxation and rest. The first part of cycling to the entrance of the gorge is with a slight descent, but easy. We will enter a narrow gorge with high sharp rock walls, in some places up to 200 meters through a narrow spot. Here a steep ascent to the pass begins. The descent is easier and shorter. Upon our arrival, you will be free to walk around and take pleasure in lake's virgin nature and its environs. Dinner is in the collapsible nomadic dwellings - yurts. Yurt represents wooden skeleton, covered with thin felt mats. Overnight stay is in yurt camp, at the altitude of 3016 m. a. s. l.
Day 6: Son Kul Lake
This day we will spend in the Kyrgyz paradise, at Son - Kul Lake. You will have an excellent opportunity to explore Kyrgyz nature and lifestyle on your own. You can ride along the lake on a horse, or just relaxing in the atmosphere of the wild, but calm nature. It is a great chance to get acquainted with nomadic traditions and culture. We will walk among the Mountains of Tian - Shan where every nomad invites you to his yurt to try national staple drink made of mare's milk - kymis. You will spend this night in tent camp.
Day 7: Ride Son Kul lake - Kyzyl Korgon canyon (80km)
Breakfast. After that we will cycle in the sacred stones direction. These ancient (dating back to 800 B.C.) stones are with carvings. After visiting the site of petroglyphs we leave Son Kul and cycle through Kara Keche Pass (3381m. a. s. l.) to the Valley of Djumgal. Upon arrival we will have walking in the region of high mountains, snow peaks, rocks and red canyons. Overnight stay is in the tent camp.
Day 8: Ride Kyzyl Korgon - Kyrk-Kyz Pass 3223m.
This day we will pass near the Kizil Oi (Red Canyon) Village. On our way we will see different color rocks, pastures, panoramas. Kizil Oi is small poor village in the mountains. You will have time to walk there to see the life of Kyrgyz people in the country side. You will also see famous red canyons that are completely different from other mountains in Kyrgyzstan. These places always make an impression on the voyagers and all of them want to come back here one more time. Overnight stay is in the tent camp.
Day 9: Ride Kyrk-Kyz pass - Ter Jailak pass 2446m - Toluk village (50km)
Today we will have a difficult cycling. On our way we will meet many Kyrgyz shepherds on the summer pastures (jailoo). The Kyrgyz nomads always glad to communicate with foreigners and are very hospitable. You could ask them about their life and to see their felt dwellings - yurts. It will be also possible to try national drink kymis. It is made of mare's milk that is fermented. This drink has really unusual taste. Even in our time herdsmen come to this place and you can see their way of lifestyle. Overnight is in the tents.
Day 10: Ride and transfer to the Toktogul Village
We will start cycling after breakfast. Our chauffeur will drive behind us. The road has a plenty of incredible views and when you are there it becomes clear that the best creation in the world is natural world! You will never forget the sceneries that surround you here. Lunch and transfer to the Village where we can take a shower or drive to the artificial lake. Free time.
Night is in the home stay.
Day 11: Transfer to Bishkek city
We will drive in the morning to Bishkek. Upon arrival in Bishkek City you will have free time to go for shopping and to walk. At 8 o'clock in the evening you will have a dinner in a restaurant. You will spend this night in the hotel***.
Day 12: Transfer to the airport
At the pick up time arranged previously according to your flight details your guide will meet you in your hotel and accompany you to the International Airport of Manas.
