Kyrgyzstan: National Museum


Each nation has its own history. The Kyrgyz nation is not an exception. The history of this nation is very rich and interesting.
A lot of scientists and archeologists spent much time on the excavations in Kyrgyzstan. They found many interesting and valuable things for the science. Each exhibit, which was found, was studied carefully and then given to the museums. 
One of the biggest museums in Central Asia is considered to be The State Historical Museum of Kyrgyzstan. The history of this museum began in 1927. The first exposition was prepared on the 5th of March in 1927. The first "home" for the museum was the "boyhood house" of Mikhail Frunze. Only in 1980's it was moved to the center of Bishkek on the main Ala-Too square.
The territory of the National Historical Museum is more than 8000 sq.m. There are 44000 exhibits of basic fond. The whole fond of the museum contains more than 80000 exhibits. Many collections are unique and represent a big scientific value. 
If you want to know more about the historical way of the development of Kyrgyzstan, you should visit the 2nd floor. This is the place where you can find out all about nomadic life of the Kyrgyz nation from the Stone Age till nowadays.
The pride of the historical museum is an ethnographical collection which includes things that are made of felt, wool, leather and wood. Also there is another very valuable collection. This is a silver jeweler collection dating from the 19th-20th centuries.
The 1st floor of The National Historical Museum is devoted to The Civil war and the revolution in 1917. The biggest part of the collection dedicated to V.I.Lenin. It is a famous place among people who travel in Kyrgyzstan. Also the State Historical Museum of Kyrgyz Republic is a participant of UNESCO "Heritage" program.
